Right now I really don't know which
time zone we're in so I'll just set
the date as it is in Sydney. We took
off from Auckland half an hour ago.
And of course I do expect to publish
this entry much later, or at least
after we land. Surprisingly, I am
comfortable. Make no mistake, it is
economy class. But there is ample
room for me to stretch my legs and
the in-flight entertainment is...
very entertaining! Also the fact
that the two seats between me and
the window are empty made it all the
more tranquil. Yet still, it will
take us at least another 12 hours to
get to San Francisco. Until then I
better keep boredom at bay so I'll
just tinker with my laptop for a
while.

We were meant to depart from Sydney
at 10:30am, so I decided to go to
the airport at 7am to make sure that
if there are going to be any hassles
then I have more than enough time to
make up for it. If not then I can
check my luggage in and just hang
around. But it didn't work out that
way. The aircraft was late for an
hour. And because of that they also
delayed the check-ins. So up until
9am I had to drag around my suitcase
and I couldn't wander too far away
in case they delay the flight even
further or make other changes to it.
It's occasions like this that I'm
glad I always travel light. I
could've carried two 20kg suitcases
(and a
sofa?) but what would I do with
them if I'm on my own and I had to
go to the bathroom?
But other than that everything else
was good. Starbucks was within
visual range of the airline's
check-in counter so I just sat there
and had coffee and waited. And right
now I'm looking out the window and
it's really nice to see over the
clouds. It's not everyday that you
see the sunset from 10,000 meters
above sea level. :)
